My name is Aliza and I am a first-year student at UC Irvine. Although I am a biological sciences major, I have always been fascinated by the humanities. The disciplines they encompass, such as philosophy, art, and history eloquently reflect human thoughts and interactions in a way that science cannot. This blog is meant to articulate these thoughts and interactions in the context of empire and ruins, the core theme of my humanities course.
